The DMV is a gold mine for personal data. If you've gotten a ticket, then your records are probably online and searchable. In some states, like Maryland, they actually list your driver's license number. Even worse, if you get a ticket in Maryland but are from a state that used to use your Social Security Number as your driver's license number, then your SSN is exposed too. (Note that a 2004 federal law now bars states from using SSNs as driver's license numbers, but many drivers haven't had to renew their licenses yet.)
