Two years after its IPO, Nike debuted the Air Force 1, the first basketball shoe to feature Air cushioning throughout its sole. Since then, the popular sneaker has been reissued over and over (more than 1,700 Air-cushioned basketball sneakers have been developed, according to Footwear News). It's also become a hip hop favorite: St. Louis rapper Nelly dedicated a hit song to the shoe in 2002.
