Watching the news is fruitless. My mom always said, if you're going to do it, don't worry; if you're going to worry, don't do it. You've already made the commitment to be where you are invested.
By watching the disaster, you're just leaning into a lot of distress. You're forcing yourself to suffer. Why bother? You're there. And unless you need to get out, you're committed.
