While most of the Solstice Coupe GXP's mechanical and body parts are shared with its convertible sister, not all are. Particularly in the back of the car, much of the sheet metal and glass is unique to this particular model. That makes Batton concerned about replacement once these cars are long out of production.
GM will have sufficient quantities of spare sheet metal to allow for plenty of repairs, said GM spokesman Jim Hopson. So, no need to worry. GM's got your rear-end covered, he insisted.
If you're still interested in this car for its potential investment value, GM is trying to help you out by producing all the cars with sequential Vehicle Identification Numbers. The cars most likely to have real value in the future will be first few and last few built, experts agree.
