Name: Steve Bruning, 57
Location: Omaha, Neb.
Profession: Retired
His story: "I just retired as a package car driver from United Parcel Service, and if I qualified for any of the money, I'd buy some saddle bags for my BMW motorcycle. When the weather warms up, my brother and a buddy and I are planning a motorcycle trip to Arkansas. The saddle bags cost about $850.
But since I'm retired, I won't get the tax credit.
I'm in pretty good shape. I live frugally, my utilities and cable are my only expenses. I have no credit card debt, no mortgage, no car payment. I have a defined contribution pension from UPS. So if I were to get any kind of tax cut, I'd just go and blow it. It'd be like a little Christmas gift." - as told to Lara Moscrip
