When Cory Batson's acoustic guitar was stolen in 1997, he didn't buy a new one -- he made his own. One guitar led to another. Cory and his brother Grant opened Batson Guitar Co. in Nashville that same year. Since then the duo have emphasized innovative and player-friendly designs -- such as moving the guitar's sound hole (traditionally on the front) to the side.
Grant says the side hole creates a fuller, richer sound. It also looks really cool.
