WellPoint became the symbol for all that's wrong with health insurers when Braly went before Congress in February to defend a proposed 39% rate increase in California that she later withdrew. Health reform poses huge challenges to WellPoint, but the company still insures more Americans than any other firm, and could benefit when the newly insured need coverage.
