First Job: Back waiter
My first job was as a back waiter in a Tribeca restaurant. (A back waiter brings the food but doesn't take your order.) The next summer, I worked as a front waiter, where I learned that I'm no good at multitasking. If you can't do several things (take a drink order, "fire" a table, make a cappuccino) all in one stride, waiting tables can be mentally as well as physically tough.
Yes, waiting tables was tough on my brain.
