Where is the economy heading?

In year one of the recession we saw huge growth in the number of people giving to classroom projects but a precipitous drop in average donation size. We saw 60% growth in donors but only 11% growth in dollars. The following year, dollars and donors were more similar.

This year, we've seen huge growth in donors -- 100% year-over-year growth -- while growth in dollars is at just 30%. We've seen a "double dip" in the average donation size. As we cast our net wider and acquire more folks, average donation size might go down. But people out there are more sensitive to others in need.
