I just canceled my insurance. The policies available don't cover the kind of doctors I want to see. I don't plan on purchasing insurance at this time, and I feel like this bill violates my rights. I should have the right to choose whether I want a policy.
I used to pay $547 per month through Costco, but the expense got to be too much. I don't know how the government thinks I'm going to pay a penalty if I can't afford the policy in the first place.
Medically speaking, I am healthy according to tests that traditional doctors run. But I feel the best when I see my naturopath. He focuses on wellness and treats issues that aren't yet severe enough to show up on blood tests.
Insurers say they cover chiropractic care, massage and naturopathics. But just like traditional doctors, not all of those care providers are the same. The ones that are best for me are never in-network, so I pay out-of-pocket to get the care that I need.
