My husband and I splurge on going out to dinner. We're both psychiatrists and we know that it's experiences, not stuff, that truly make people happy.
We enjoy sharing good wine, good food and each others' company. However, we joke we've joined the "blue-haired set" because we go happy hours at restaurants where you can dine and drink for 1/2 price before 6 p.m. or 7 p.m. We used to eat a bit later but it's quite a savings. We also walk into town and that's part of the evening's entertainment.
