Tocqueville manager John Hathaway is an outspoken gold bull -- he's said the price could eventually rise to $5,000 an ounce.
That may be a while off, but in the meantime he's taking his shareholders for a ride. Tocqueville (TGLDX) has risen a staggering 54% in the past year, driven by Hathaway's investments in small and midsize miners like Osisko Mining and Ivanhoe Mines. Even more impressive is that Hathaway has outperformed over long stretches.
