With a 20% down payment, Shahzad paid $273,000 for the house. He, his wife, Huma Asif Mian, and their two children lived here until sometime last year, when they walked away from the underwater home.
The house is currently in foreclosure proceedings. In March 2010, an appraiser valued the house at $240,000 -- 12% less than its purchase price five years earlier.
