Sales down 15%: Capt. Anderson's Restaurant
The Patronis brothers, Johnny (left) and Jimmy.
On July 4, Capt. Anderson's in Panama City, Fla., served 2,100 people -- but it should have served 2,500, according to co-owner Johnny Patronis.
Known for serving fresh, local seafood, the Patronis brothers continue to order Gulf shrimp and fish. Johnny and Jimmy have owned Capt. Anderson's restaurant for 43 years, and regular customers trust the Patronis brothers to serve them only safe seafood. But the public perception that oil is covering the Florida Panhandle has spooked tourists: "The news has had such a dynamic impact on business," Johnny says. "The bad thing is this all started when the season got started."
