"The number one complaint in an office is: I'm too hot, or I'm too cold," says Fox. At One Bryant Park, the answer is: fix it yourself. The cool air -- circulated through cool water -- sits under dials on the floor, spaced around 100 feet apart.
Jordan Barowitz, who heads Durst's external relations and works on the building's 48th floor, says his colleagues use the hand controls often.
Of course, old habits die hard, as one tenant suggested: "If you think somebody in a suit paying $100 per square foot is going to stick his hand on the floor..."
