Introduced in 1986, the first TC didn't reach customers until 1989, but the delay made the car look dated and didn't help quality. Combining Detroit and Italian engineering was a disaster; as one critic put it, putting a Chrysler engine in a Maserati body meant taking the worst from each company. Only 7,300 were built -- all of them in Milan -- before production mercifully ended
