Nooks and crannies

On the practical side, the Sonic is filled with handy places to put stuff, always at a premium in a car like this. Among the more interesting cubbies are two deep vertical bins and a slot with a hidden clip inside, just right for holding a parking card.

Rear seat legroom is about on par with the competition, which means it's acceptable, but you wouldn't want to move in.

The trunk in the sedan version looks simply enormous while the cargo area in the hatchback has a nifty floor that lifts out to reveal "basement" storage lower down. It can also be locked in higher up for use as a shelf, allowing you to make the most of that vertical space.
