By the end, GM may have finally found the formula, but it was too late. After GM sold off the brand, Saab was able, just barely, to roll out a new Saab 9-5 sedan and this crossover SUV, the Saab 9-4X. (The 9-4X shares most of its engineering -- and a Mexican assembly line -- with the Cadillac SRX.)
Both were handsome cars with much to recommend them but, with GM facing its own brush with death, Saab could no longer be saved even by the best of cars.
