When protests began in Egypt against President Hosni Mubarak's three-decade-long reign, Twitter came of age yet again. Protestors struggled to circumvent Internet access blocked by the government, and people all over the world helped.
To communicate, wrote April Rudin in a piece on the Huffington Post Tech website, "[protestors] used Twitter and text messaging. It strikes me as a measurable important world event in which technology played a major role in the outcomes."
