McDonald's is going on a jobs spree, hiring 50,000 people in one day. Meet the people who applied, and the folks that already love their 'McJobs.'
Media blitz
McDonald's is on a mission to hire 50,000 new workers across all 50 states on April 19.
The positions range from jobs flipping burgers to managing restaurants, with opportunities to work full- or part-time.
The fast-food chain has spread the word mainly through national and local press, and on Tuesday organized a media blitz at its Rockefeller Center location in midtown Manhattan.
More than 20 reporters flooded the restaurant, outnumbering applicants -- at least in the early hours -- by 5 to 1.
A few blocks away, applicants streamed into other locations steadily throughout the morning.
