This rare photo of Stuart Sutcliffe, the fifth Beatle, with George Harrison (far l.) and John Lennon (far r.) is being auctioned.

Guernsey's auction house in New York City is putting a vintage trove of rock 'n' roll memorabilia on the block on Sept. 24 and 25.

The center piece is Elvis Presley's first guitar, a battered, taped-up acoustic with only four strings. Other items include numerous photos of the Beatles on the brink of stardom. Another gem? John Lennon's last car.
