My late grandma taught me to re-roast coffee. She went through the Great Depression, so she always did it, and I guess she passed on the trait of being frugal because now I do it.
It's very easy. First, I brew a pot of coffee. But instead of throwing the used coffee grounds and filter in the garbage, I put them in a plastic container and put them in the fridge until I have two pots of coffee worth.
Then, I dump them on a cookie sheet, spread them out, and re-roast them at 375 degrees for 3 to 4 minutes until they are dry.
I then extract the oil and reuse the coffee. After that, I throw it away. So it ends up going twice as far.
