My husband and I got our checking account in 1956, after we got married. It wasn't Bank of America back then [it was Norwich West Main Banking Center]. And I still remember the nice gentleman who owned it, who we would always talk to.
After we got a checking account, we opened a savings account and CDs, and then a while back we got investments with them too. We moved to a different city some time ago, but we still stayed with the same bank.
We don't go in to the branch too often, but when we do, there's one girl in there who we've dealt with a lot who we like very much. But most of the time we go to the ATM, and we put money in envelopes to pay our bills. We don't have debit cards, so usually we pay for things with checks and cash.
Everyone we deal with is very nice and very cordial. We don't have any reason to change banks.
We found 8 with zero ATM fees, free checking and high-yielding accounts.
