For months I watched one of my account executives flit about the office, talking to everyone and distracting other employees. Finally, I just realized that she had to go. I called her into my office with the director of operations by my side and told her the news.
Immediately, she sat down on the floor and began to weep. It was as if she were putting on a show, thinking that if she cried hard enough, maybe I'd change my mind and take her back. Anyway, the bawling went on for a while until she got up and -- I kid you not -- began to throw things from my desk, screaming at the top of her lungs that we were running a "hostile work environment."
I had to call security (which was really an old man who ran a desk downstairs), and he walked her to her desk to make sure she didn't steal anything, and escorted her out of the building. To this day, anytime I meet a woman with the same name, I wince and think she's going to start bawling.
