After interning with luxury houses Gucci, Carolina Herrera and Nina Ricci and helping to launch the contemporary brands Chelsea Flower and WiNK, Joy Cioci's goal was to combine the best of both fashion worlds with the launch of her own self-titled line in 2010.
"I want to offer my consumers contemporary clothing that has the novel detailing and quality that are usually only found within luxury brands," said Cioci.
But Cioci is more than just a pretty dress. Much of her appeal comes from her commitment to social responsibility and service to others. Full proceeds from the purchase of every Joy Dress from the Fall/Winter 2011 Collection benefit The Knock Foundation in support of underserved populations in developing countries around the world.
Though Cioci surpassed her revenue goals with her first season, she measures her true success in relation to the strength of her team and its ability to continue to have a strong presence in the industry well into the future.
