The all-wheel-drive Impreza -- there is no two-wheel-drive version -- has sharp handling and a luxury-like ride. It also has a relatively roomy backseat and good visibility. Fuel economy, at 27 mpg overall, is also impressive for an all-wheel-drive car, the magazine said. (The EPA rates the Impreza at 30 mpg when equipped with an automatic transmission.) The only downside: it could be quieter, the magazine said.
