Even with plug-in cars now on the market, the Prius "still sets the standard " for environmentally friendly cars by combining fuel economy, practicality and affordability, according to Consumer Reports. The magazine rates the Prius and the larger Prius V at 44 and 41 mpg overall, respectively. The EPA rates them at 50 and 42 mpg. The Prius also has excellent crash test scores and a comfortable interior.
