A long weekend in Disney is much more feasible this month than any other time of the year, thanks to smaller crowds, cheaper airfare and even discounted resort stays. Guests who book before Jan. 22, for example, can save up to 30% at Disney Resorts or stay three nights and get a fourth night free.
On the downside, some rides -- like the popular Thunder Mountain Railroad -- will be closed for maintenance during this time, but there is always still plenty for little Mouseketeers to do.
And the savings are worth the trade-off: The average round-trip airfare from New York City to Orlando between January and March is $261, down from $368 over the Christmas holiday, according to Travelocity.
