Hedge fund managers revealed some of their big investment predictions at the CNBC Institutional Investor Delivering Alpha conference this week.
Cooperman is an optimist. When asked at the Delivering Alpha conference when the last time he was bearish on the market, the 71-year-old value investor joked that it may have been around the time of his Bar Mitzvah.
One of favorites stocks these days: Citigroup (C). It's a big bet on a stock that's been pummeled this year after its $7 billion mortgage settlement, a failed stress test, and allegations of money laundering at its Mexican subsidiary.
Cooperman is confident that the bank's previously denied dividend and share buyback plans will get approved in the end, and he believes a stronger economy will lead to continued strength in loan growth for the bank. And at around 9.3 times 2014 earnings, the stock is pretty cheap.
