Disney (DIS) shareholders are feeling like they're at the "happiest place on earth" right about now. The entertainment powerhouse has emerged as the clear winner at the box office this summer with the success of its "Guardians of the Galaxy" film, which grossed the most money despite not being released until August.
"Malificient" isn't far behind, and investors are hopeful that the studio can capitalize on its "Frozen" franchise in the form of a planned Broadway show and character incorporation in the company's theme parks, story books, videos, and interactive games. Visits to Disney's U.S. theme parks are also up.
