There's nothing inherently innovative about serving beer and bar food to sports fans. But Buffalo Wild Wings (BWLD) CEO Sally Smith has embraced tech more than most other casual dining chains.
Buffalo Wild Wings is starting to let customers use tablets to place orders. Smith has said that this will increase efficiency at the restaurants and increase tips for wait staff since customers will be happier.
The World Cup was a GOOAL for Buffalo Wild Wings
Smith has also said that B-Dub may eventually let people pay using tablets and also use them to play games while they watch games. That sounds like nirvana to fantasy football junkies.
Oh, and did we mention that the company is also running its "Pick 'Em Challenge," allowing customers to win prizes for correctly selecting the winners of college football bowl games.
Investors like Smith's approach too. The stock's up nearly 20% this year.
