A bacon hotdog donut sounds like something Homer Simpson would dream up, but it's real.
Donut maker Krispy Kreme (KKD) partnered with a minor league baseball team in Delaware earlier this year on the hotdog stuffed in a glazed donut topped with bacon and raspberry jam.
The Wilmington Blue Rocks asked fans in March to come up with a name for what they called "baseball's sweetest weenie." A few weeks later, the "Sweenie Donut Dog" was born.
It turns out that minor league baseball stadiums are a hotbed of Franken Food. They have produced combinations that put KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell to shame, including the Pulled Pork Parfait and the Fried Oreo Sundae.
