The Concorde -- the most successful supersonic airliner -- debuted at the 1969 Paris Air Show with a surprise touch-and-go approach: It briefly touched its landing gear on the runway and then jetted off again before turning around and landing.
The Concorde, which ended service in 2003, boasted a top speed of 1,358 mph and regularly flew between London and New York in less than three-and-a-half hours.
