2011: Airbus A400M Atlas

paris air show

The Airbus A400M 'Atlas' turboprop cargo transport debuted at Paris in 2011 after development problems, delays and cost overruns.

Hollywood helped the plane gain fame when Tom Cruise used it to perform a breathtaking stunt for 2015's "Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation." Cruise performed eight takes clinging to the outside of an Atlas while it flew high over the English countryside.
