A twin-engine, two-seat interceptor, the Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-31 came to the Paris Air Show in 1991.

Armed during combat with air-to-air missiles, its sophisticated "look-down/shoot-down" radar allowed it to detect, track and target high-speed enemy aircraft below the horizon.
