I know nothing about hair, I had never been in the industry. Prior to this, I had a financial company in south Florida for years.
I researched the industry and heard about the blow-dry bar concept taking off across the country but realized, Philadelphia was missing out. We opened up one location in March and it did very well. We plan to open four more locations by the end of the year.
Anybody in the industry knows it's filled with drama. Hair stylists are often very selfish and very careful because there is always the risk of somebody stealing their client.
My whole concept is about being drama-free. I cut all the cattiness, and we don't have a hierarchy. We've really developed it to have everybody helping each other out.
