Last week, President Obama proposed some relief for graduates with student loans. But for too many, decisions made in college on student loans continue to haunt them. Edited for clarity.
I graduated last year with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice. My job as a corporate security officer at a bank in Cleveland pays $10 an hour. I work about 40 hours a week, but most of my money goes towards the bills -- rent, health insurance and costs related to my 6-year-old daughter. I can't keep borrowing from relatives. I'd like to use by degree and become a U.S. marshal or an FBI agent, but I feel like I will be stuck in obscurity.
