Sellers can be their own real estate agent with SQFT.
The app, which launched in June, guides homeowners through the selling process.
Sellers create a listing on the app which then sends it out to 900 real estate websites. Buyers and brokers then reach out through the app to schedule showings and make offers.
"If you are the type of person that enjoys DIY or wants to be in control and is a Type A person that doesn't want to turn over control, you will love this," said CEO James Simpson.
The Colorado-based company partners with local agents to help users navigate the contract and closing process if they need it.
Buyers can also use the app to search, find and bid on homes without an agent. Currently, the majority of the sales on SQFT still involve a broker, but Simpson sees their presence dwindling.
Not hiring an agent means the seller keeps the normal 3% commission charge, but SQFT does take a 1% cut and a $500 charge at close.
