(Fortune Magazine) -- India joins the global boom While the Taj Mahal is a monument to royal opulence, much of India's wealth today comes from the ground. The State Bank of India, which joins the Global 500 this year, is the only one of the six Indian companies on our list that does not produce oil. Overall their revenues grew 22%. Not to be outdone, China fueled its growth with lots of oil money too--from two of its three largest companies. China added four companies to the list, bringing its total to 20.
