Ho is half of Southeast Asia's most formidable power couple—her husband, Lee Hsien Loong, is Singapore's Prime Minister. But which has more clout is open to debate. While Lee runs tiny Singapore, his wife plays on a larger stage, overseeing Temasek Holdings, the state-owned investment house with a $100 billion portfolio. In her three years at the helm, she has expanded her domain into Indonesian telecoms and Hong Kong banking, as well as holding controlling stakes in such regional jewels as Singapore Airlines and Singapore Technologies.

These women are among the highest paid in corporate America. All of them are employed by companies with over $1 billion in sales that filed proxies by September 1, 2005.
Newcomer Charlene Begley heads up GE's plastics division and is the youngest of this group at age 39. She bumped last year's youngest gun, Citigroup CFO Sallie Krawcheck, now 40. But, on average, the Power 50 are in their late 40s.
