Sy-Coson has emerged as her father's right-hand woman at the family-controlled shopping-mall and retail empire. As vice chair of the $902 million publicly traded arm of that empire, Sy-Coson, 55, has proved that she inherited her octogenarian dad's bullish negotiating skills. The company operates 21 malls around the country, including the 4.9-million-square-foot Mall of Asia scheduled to open in Manila next year.
