Compellent Extends Fluid Data Support for VMware vSphere 4.1

Compellent (NYSE: CML) will enable end-users to manage its Fluid Data™ storage solution from the VMware® vSphere™ 4.1 client, building upon the foundation of Compellent and VMware virtualization to enable automated, scalable and cost-effective data centers and cloud services. At VMworld 2010 in San Francisco, executives from Compellent, VMware and Heineken Netherlands will host a Super Session to describe how virtualization and tiered storage enables a high-performance, flexible and cost-effective data center for critical applications. Additionally, end-users from BioWare, Biola University, Alphastaff and Aethion will lead breakout sessions and roundtables and answer questions in the Compellent booth. vSphere 4.1 Client Plug-In Simplifies Virtual Storage Management The Compellent plug-in for VMware vSphere 4.1 allows vSphere users to efficiently manage Compellent virtualized pools of storage resources. Compellent expects to ship the vSphere 4.1 client plug-in in Q4. The company will also continue development of a new plug-in for VMware vStorage APIs for Array Integration (VAAI) with plans to deliver features such as Full Copy Offload, Block Zeroing and Scalable Lock Management for enterprises and cloud services.
