Akash Shah Joins BNY Mellon as Head of Strategy, effective July 30, 2018

NEW YORK, July 26, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- BNY Mellon today announced that Akash Shah will join the company as a Senior Executive Vice President in the newly-created role of Head of Strategy, effective July 30, 2018. Mr. Shah will report to Charles W. Scharf, Chief Executive Officer, and join the Executive Committee, BNY Mellon's senior-most governing body. Mr. Shah will be based in New York.

As Head of Strategy, Mr. Shah will be responsible for helping BNY Mellon develop and implement its long-term objectives, shape external partnerships and alliances, and respond to the increasingly dynamic financial services ecosystem.

He co-led McKinsey's Capital Markets & Investment Banking practice and authored multiple reports on the firm's perspectives on the future structure of the wholesale banking industry.
