Ford is working on a new look for the Ford Focus small car, but customers are showing a taste for even smaller cars. Until recently, you didn't see many cars as small as the Toyota Yaris and Honda Fit in this country. But in Europe, they're common and Ford competes there with cars like the Ka, shown here.

Ford's rather late getting into this market segment. The company hasn't set a timetable for selling tiny Ka-type cars here, but one can only hope, for Ford's sake, that the Japanese companies and GM, with its Aveo, have left a little space for them to squeeze in.
