The Dodge Caliber and Jeep Patriot are two of three DaimlerChrysler vehicles that are very close relatives. The other, not shown here, is the Jeep Compass. The Caliber and Compass are both available with all-wheel-drive but neither is intended to venture far from pavement.

With the Patriot, DaimlerChrysler stretches the same basic vehicle a little further into traditional Jeep territory. It even looks more boxy and Jeep-like. It's available in two-wheel-drive or four-wheel-drive with more- and less-rugged offroad suspension systems.
