Okami (PlayStation 2)
Not all of the top games are on next generation systems. You're not likely to find a more stylized video game than this one in 2006. Instead of steroid-enhanced soldiers or cartoon-y farm animals, the design of "Okami" focuses on the art of Japanese brush painting. The game combines Japanese folklore and mysticism adroitly, putting you in the paws of a wolf, who happens to be the embodiment of a Japanese sun goddess, fighting to save the earth. The game's biggest hook is the use of an in-game paintbrush to change the world around you. Sounds weird, yes, but it's a lot of fun. In a sequel heavy industry, "Okami" was a refreshing breath of fresh air in 2006.
