Banesto—a commercial arm of Banco Santander, with nearly $3 billion in revenue in 2005—has raised profits every year and doubled lending during Botín's four-year reign. Whether she'll make it to the top at Banco Santander, run by her father, is anyone's guess. But it's a safe bet that Dad is already plenty proud.
