2006 price change: -31.8%
Once one of the top software companies, Novell's sales and earnings have been sliding amid weakening demand for its older products. The business software company, like many other techs, is also undergoing an internal review of its stock-based compensation.
2007 outlook: Novell recently announced a partnership with Microsoft, once its bitter rival, that lets the form of open-source Linux that Novell distributes work with Windows. Analysts expect earnings per share to slump 20 percent in calendar year 2007.
