NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - AT&T Wireless scored below average in every region of the country in the latest J.D. Power and Associates Wireless Call Quality Performance Study.
The marketing research firm surveyed cell phone users to determine the types of cell phone service problems users found most impacted their perceptions of overall quality and the frequency of those problems. Carriers were then scored based on the frequency and seriousness of problems. Static and interference was rated as the most serious problem by cell phone users. No connection on the first try was the second most serious problem and voice distortion was the third most serious.
"We have dramatically improved our network," said Mark Siegel, an AT&T Wireless spokesman, adding that the survey may not reflect recent upgrades in the company's cellular network.
