NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - Yes, it's that time again, when newspapers, magazines and Web sites start naming the previous year's best and worst of everything.

CNN/Money has, by and large, resisted the urge to compile lists. Well, no more. Today, we're naming names, with our first-ever "Fuzzy Dice Awards."

Befitting their name, the awards are rather random and fairly fuzzy.

Our panel of judges did not start with a carefully thought out list of categories, or select recipients based on clearly drawn criteria. Instead, we just sort of made things up.

The resulting list is, we hope, interesting and entertaining fodder for debate. Click here to see our gallery of winners.

In a nod to statistical exactitude, though, we did ask Carsdirect.com and Edmunds.com to supply some lists of data that might yield an interesting ranking or two.

Please feel free to write us and suggest other categories or alternate winners. At the end of the year, we will publish a sampling as the CNN/Money Fuzzy Dice Reader's Choice Awards.  Top of page
